Nolan Tyrrell

Nolan Tyrrell b.1951 Melbourne

BA Hons VCA Creative Arts

After a brief flirtation with electronics, Nolan has spent most of his adult life working with wood. He has a passion for ‘good wood’, and has saved many a log from the fire. Nolan is a prop maker, a set builder, a builder, a sculptor. Even when working with metal or clay, he tries to make it look like wood. Recently he has discovered the wonderful properties of Hawthorn, and is producing a wide range of useful sculptures that have been tested in the dishwasher. His good wood has even found its way into wearable art.

Nolan has exhibited at Trio in Kyneton, and his work can be seen regularly at The Chamber Art and Coffee House in Woodend and at the Woodend Art Group shows.
